Day 1 of Combine

Day 1
Started off the day right, with a good breakfast and a quick conference with the 75 guys in attendance. There's something real intimidating about 75 athletes sitting in a small space all eating apples and bagels. And real weird when no one is talking because we all are nervous or anxious about the training. Well in the conference, we were introduced to the coaches and were all placed on our respective teams. I was placed on team #1 (my lucky number) coached by Matt H from Grace College. I'm real excited because 3 of my defenders are All Americans, One of which is the National Player of the Year, given to the best player in the entire country. We started training as a team this morning. The fields that we are playing on are absolutely incredible. Grass resembles that of a golf course, perfect. We had a goalkeeper session today and it was the first time to see what i was going up against for the week. There's a wide variety of goalkeepers here. Short, tall, muscular, athletic, all of which are very good. To start off the training, we did footwork and agility. Next was a low dive high dive combo drill and then off to a crossing/shooting drill. A lot of fun so far and I'm feeling pretty good about where i stand right now. There were also 3-4 scouts that actually showed up to practice today, which was unexpected. Most scouts will be at the full field games and/or watching the live video being provided. After training, lunch was catered by Guthries chicken, which was incredible! Then we were off to a classroom seminar where all the coaches had the opportunity to put in their two cents about the next level, how to get there, and what we could look forward to. Also in the seminar, we had the chance to skype two professional players and get to hear their stories and were able to take away some advice from them. We had the night off but first came dinner time! Catered by a local company, we had grilled/marinated shrimp, chicken wrapped in bacon, along with two pastas, and homemade dessert bites. Great food. That wraps up day one. Looking forward to tomorrow! I appreciate all the texts/messages ive been getting. Please keep them coming and please continue to pray for me! Love Yall!
